The §25C Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit, which covered 30% of insulation cost up to an annual cap, expired December 31, 2025. Any cost or payback figure on this site that doesn't mention a tax credit is deliberately not counting one — see the methodology guide.

State-level rebates are a separate, live programme

Over 20 states have rolled out IRA-funded HOMES and HEAR rebate programs, with funding running through roughly 2031 and rollout staggered state by state through 2026. These are administered at the state level with their own income limits and application process — this site does not track dollar amounts per state, since they change faster than a county-level cost model should try to keep up with.

How to actually check

Your state energy office or public utility commission website is the authoritative source for whether your state's rebate program has opened and what it covers — search "[your state] HOMES rebate" or "[your state] HEAR program" directly rather than relying on a third-party aggregator's summary, since several aggregators in this space were found during research to have no live rebate-finder programme of their own worth trusting over the state's own page.
